Yummy Gobs…

1 Chocolate Cake Mix
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
Mix all ingredients. Once it is mixed well, continue mixing for 1-2 minutes.
Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Drop batter onto sheet by 1/4 cupfuls. (I used a medium scoop). Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.
Cool for 15 minutes. Depending on your time, you have two options. You can fill the gobs with a tub of frosting or make Grandma’s Filling.
2 eggs
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup Crisco (you can use half butter and half shortening if you like)
2 tsp. vanilla
4 TBSP. flour
4 TBSP. milk
Beat together. If it is too thick add a little more milk. Too runny, add some more powdered sugar.
Place your desired frosting between two cookies.
You’ll need to individually wrap each gob so that they don’t stick together. These are so yummy!!!

Those look delicious! Yum!!
They are. So that we wouldn't eat them all, I put a few in the freezer and took the rest to work. Needless to say, they were a hit!!!
Ok, so I just had to try them…http://www.iamamoneymagnet.com/2010/06/recipe-to-try-yummy-gobs/
Eunice – thanks for stopping by. Yes, these are also called whoopie pies but my family has always called them gobs. I have a few in the freezer so that we wouldn't eat them all at once.Jamie – so glad you gave them a try!!!
never heard them called yummy gobs before, but they're definitely what we here in Lanc Co call whoopie pies. :-) still oh, so good…and we actually prefer ours mostly frozen as they don't freeze solid. :-)~eunice brsmile2u @dejazzd .com
[…] Yummy Gobs – What ever the name they sure are Good to eat and Fun to make. I used store bought help for both the cake and filling part. Devils food cake mix and a pre made frosting for the filling. Everyone enjoyed them. Recipe couldn’t be any easier.Recipe link:http://thriftytstreasures.com/2010/06/yummy-gobs/ […]
Am I reading the directions right , is it raw eggs in the filling?
You are, Cherie…that is my grandma’s recipe.
If you’re leery about using raw eggs, you can definitely use a tub of frosting or this cream cheese filling (http://thriftytstreasures.com/2013/10/pumpkin-roll-cream-cheese-filling/).
