It’s no secret – I’m a huge fan of candles! I love the ambiance a lit candles give a room!
A few days ago I headed to my local Yankee Candle Company store. I had a blast perusing through the store and smelling all of the yummy candles.
I’m always intrigued at the creativity they have when naming their candles. Warm Woolen Mittens is part of Yankee Candle’s My Favorite Things Collection. This collection is inspired by the The Sound of Music and I couldn’t help but sing the song as I checked out each candle! Warm Woolen Mittens is a very clean smelling candle.
It was tough deciding which candles to purchase. I knew I wanted to get a “food scented” candle. It was a toss up between Whoopie Pie and Crisp Apple Srudel.
Yankee Candle’s Whoopie Pie candle smells just like a chocolate fountain. (Secretly, I was afraid that I woul gain 50 pounds because I’d want to eat chocolate every time I burned that candle. Grins!) In the end I opted for the Crisp Apple Strudel. It smells just like you’re baking apple strudel and is definitely a fun candle to burn in the fall!
Yankee Candle Company currently has a fabulous coupon – buy 2 large jar or tumbler candles and get 2 free! These large jar candles will burn up to 150 hours and retail for $27.99. After my coupon I paid just over $15 for each of these candles. Now, I don’t know about you but that’s a fabulous deal, especially with Christmas just around the corner! I plan to give a few of these as gifts and splurged and bought a couple for myself! Their coupon is good through November 25 so you’ll have plenty of time to head out and grab these deals too!
This North Pole candle had me at hello! It was, by far, the best candle in the store. In fact, I’m burning it as I wrote this post! North Pole has a clean, crisp, minty “flavor” that smells like Christmas! It has pure, natural mint extracts!
As I was showing my finds to Trent he showed me a trick to experiencing the true scent of the candle. If you close your eyes and bring the candle up to your nose you can get the full scent. And, you know, he’s right. You should try it!
