Take A Minute Tuesday…

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.
Today as we take a break from our normal posts, I encourage you to be still for just a few minutes and take some time to meet with God.  God is all around us; we just have to take the time to experience Him.  Psalm 46:10 encourages us to, “Be still and know that I am God.”

God as Father
Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in
glorious strength. ~ Psalms 89:13 (NLT)

One of the pictures in my office is a collage of snapshots from my early days of parenting that was put together by my daughter. One picture is from our first family trip to the Gulf when our youngest two children were three and two years old. They are walking along the water’s edge as it gently lapped the shoreline, yet I am holding their hands ever so gently. The note my daughter wrote under the picture reads, “Even though in that small amount of water I knew I could not be swept away, you were there to put any worries of mine away.”
This image is what God wants us to have of Him – not only present in crisis, but watching over us in protection and love. He longs for us to experience confidence, love and power in our relationship with Him as we journey through life.

Prayer points:

  • Thank God that He is a loving and caring Father to you.
  • Pray for greater intimacy with God as you take time to consider what it means to be a child of God. Are we ever to let go of His hand?
  • Pray for people who have a false view of God because they did not have a good experience with their earthly fathers-pray they find freedom from the effects of bad fathering.
