Take A Minute Tuesday…

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.

Today as we take a break from our normal posts, I encourage you to be still for just a few minutes and take some time to meet with God.  God is all around us; we just have to take the time to experience Him.  Psalm 46:10 encourages us to, “Be still and know that I am God.”
Daddy!

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:15

Last week I took one of my daughters and her three children with me on an out of town trip.  The day we got back and pulled into their driveway, I had to stop the car before I parked and let the children out.  They saw their daddy outside, jumped out of their seats, and ran to him shouting, “Daddy!  Daddy!” as they wrapped themselves in his arms.

Today I stopped behind a school bus and saw a little boy get off and run to his daddy who was standing at the bus stop waiting for him to get home.  He had only been gone for a few hours, but their reunion was as joyful as if they had been separated for days instead of hours.

Both incidents made me think of how I should be with my heavenly Father now.  As soon as I wake up in the morning, I should be running to Him and crying out, “Daddy!  Daddy!”.  I so much need to feel His loving arms around me.  I need to hear His words of comfort and assurance.  The most amazing thing is that He wants me to have the same relationship with Him that a child does with their earthly father.

“Heavenly Daddy, I need You so much more now than I have ever needed You before.  I know that You are not physically here to hold me, but help me somehow to feel Your presence with me and be able to experience Your peace that passes understanding.  Lead me by the hand, Daddy.   Wrap me in Your arms and help me to feel safe.”
