Take A Minute Tuesday…

Today as we take a break from our normal posts, I encourage you to be still for just a few minutes and take some time to meet with God.  God is all around us; we just have to take the time to experience Him.  Psalm 46:10 encourages us to, “Be still and know that I am God.”

I love the Ninety-first Psalm.  At times in my life when things looked uncertain, the Ninety-first Psalm has been a comfort.  Just look at the first verse, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”  Isn’t that a beautiful picture?  As a child of God, you dwell in God’s shelter, and because you do, you can rest in His shadow.

So when things look bleak or upsetting, you aren’t forgotten.  Often people envision God either as a taskmaster or a distant, disinterested figure.  But both of these views are incorrect.  Psalm 91 is a great reminder of the protection that He offers to His children.

I challenge you to read Psalm 91 and consider it in light of your situation.  As you do, you’ll begin to se that God is very interested in your life and He’s available to help you through difficult situations.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:1-2
