“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13
Is there someone in your office who has offended you, and you just can’t seem to let it go? You see that person and your stomach immediately ties into a knot or your heart races. The feelings of hurt and anger continue to hang on.
Though you may have been wronged, you’ll never find true contentment and peace until you’ve forgiven her. You may think, “Yes, but you don’t know what she did!” True, I don’t know, but God does. And He doesn’t tell us to forgive some of the time. He just tell us to forgive.
You may have to forgive her several times before it becomes real. You’ll decide to forgive her and the next time you see her, the anger and hurt rise back up. So you have to forgive her again. Not only is it important for your spiritual health, but it’s important for your emotional health, too. Until you forgive and let go of the pain and anger, you’ll never have the peace that God wants you to have. So determine to forgive that person, not just for her, but also for you.
