Snow, Letters and Weekend Ramblings

Earlier this week, sickness struck our household. It wasn’t just a light cold (I think we both had sinus infections), but we were both down for the count for a few days. Thankfully we’ve both rounded the corner and are better now!

This morning when I sent Trent off to work, I noticed that it was snowing. No, it wasn’t the “downpour” that many of you have been getting, but a tender Tennessee sprinkling. (Yes, I just said tender Tennessee sprinkling. Ha!) So tender, that you can’t even see it falling in my picture above. :O)

People think I’m crazy, but I love snow, even if it’s just seeing a tiny bit falling from the sky. I think it’s because it reminds me of my dad. He was from Pennsylvania so as little girls we’d travel there during the holidays and there’d usually be snow. We also had a huge hill across the street from our house and when it would snow, we’d sled down it. As we got older, dad would drive us to work to keep us safe. He was such a good man, and I miss him so! I’m thankful for such sweet, sweet memories.

A Bit of Reading

I’ve been trying to read more. One thing I’ve been doing to make that happen is to go to bed one hour earlier and snuggle in bed with my Kindle. It works out quite nicely, and Trent usually watches one of his shows while I’m reading.

I’ve already read a couple books this year and am currently reading Paper Roses by Amanda Cabot. (It was a freebie I got a while back.) Good book, and the next time I see it free I’ll pass it on so you can grab it too!

Speaking of free eBooks, I hope you’ve been enjoying the roundups that I’ve been sharing. One of the great things about getting free eBooks is that I don’t feel obligated to read the book if I don’t like it. This happened to me last week. I started a book and barely got through the first chapter before deleting it. (Please tell me this has happened to you!)

Working With Letters

I’m so excited about these letters. They’re part of a project that I’m working on and will be sharing with you in the next few weeks!

Well, that’s all of my ramblings for right now. If I can tear myself away from watching the Olympics, I’m going to try and get a few things checked off of my to-do list!

What have you been up to? (Please leave a comment and let me know!)

So sorry you were both sick. Glad you are feeling better. I, too have deleted free books when they didn’t catch my interest in the first few pages.

Don’t we have so many good memories. I miss your dad tremendously much every day.
