Trent may be the coffee drinker in our family, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t treat myself to an occasional Iced Caramel Macchiato. (Oh, I can just taste it now!) I say treat myself because visiting a coffee shop is downright expense. $4 here and $5 there adds up quickly for our favorite cup of joe.
Why not keep your hard-earned cash in your wallet and check out these tips to help you save on Starbucks (or your favorite coffee shop).
Sign Up For Rewards Programs
Not only will Starbucks give you a free birthday drink, but you can get free refills and more when you sign up for their rewards program.
Dunkin Donuts and Panera Bread also have rewards programs that you’ll want to sign up for if you frequent their stores (or want to)!
Ask For A Bigger Cup
When ordering coffee, order the size you want in the cup of the next size up (i.e. at Starbucks, order a short in a tall cup). When you add your milk and sugar there will be plenty of room in your cup and you won’t have to pour out any of your glorious coffee.
Split One With A Friend
If you both love the same drink, why not order a Venti (24 oz) and ask for an additional cup. This will not only save on your wallet, but your waistline too!
Purchase Discounted eGifts and Vouchers
Save 10% or more at Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Panera Bread, and Tim Horton’s when you purchase eGifts and Vouchers through Raise. (10% may not sound like much but I promise that it adds up over time!)
To redeem vouchers, simply print and present to the barista at time of purchase (tell them to ring it up just like a gift card). eGifts can be transferred to your registered Starbucks Card.
Bring Your Own Cup
Starbucks offers a $.10 discount on any drink (except bottled and ready-to-drink) when you bring in your own reusable cup, mug or tumbler.
Ask For Half The Ice
Have you ever noticed how much ice they put in iced drinks? Until now, I’ve often wondered how much additional drink I’ve been missing out on.
When ordering, simply ask for half the ice and get more per serving!
When dining in at Starbucks enjoy $.55 refills on hot or iced coffee. Bring your computer and take advantage of their FREE Wifi, read a book, or enjoy time with friends.
Brew At Home
Yes, I know it’s not as luxurious as getting it at the store, but you’ll get the same coffee for a lot cheaper!
- Order coffee through Amazon and brew it with your Keurig, French Press or regular ole’ coffee maker.
- Buy beans at the stores (using the discount vouchers above). Many stores will grind it for you!
- Most grocery stores carry your favorite brands. (Pair a sale with a coupon to save on your favorite brand!)
