Roadside Treasures…This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.
My precious husband has a knack for finding treasures on the side of the road. Quite frequently he’ll walk in the house and announce the he’s found something on his 25 minute ride to work.
I never know what he’s going to bring home so I don’t know whether or not to get excited when he makes his announcements. In the past he’s brought home a ladder, a large stuffed animal (I’m not really sure why he brought this one home since he doesn’t have kids – maybe it was for the dogs), and a comforter. I’m sure there’s much more that just doesn’t come to mind right this second, either that or I’m trying to forget it because it’s scarred me for life. (wink)
Please try to contain any desire to be envious of his latest treasures. Hunter was excited to see a new comforter. His old one, that Trent found on the side of the road a while back, was looking pretty ratty. It was a win win for both of us. Hunter got a new comforter and we were able to donate the other one to the landfill!
Now, I know what you’re thinking because I was thinking the same thing when I saw this find. How in the world did Trent find this tiny flashlight on the side of the road? When I asked him he said that it was dark and the flashlight was on when he spotted it. I’m still blown away at this one.
The other day as we were driving together we saw some cardboard boxes on the side of the road. Trent spoke up and said, “To you that’s just trash on the side of the road and you won’t give it a second thought. To me it’s an opportunity.” I couldn’t help but laugh because he was right. I wouldn’t give that pile of cardboard a second thought, nor would I stop on the side of a busy road to pick something up.
Have you ever found treasures on the side of the road (that you’re willing to admit)?
