Remembering Dad, Part 2

I’m so blessed to have had a dad that was the spiritual leader in our home. Growing up we frequently had family devotions together. Whenever Annissa and I sat together, she would make me start laughing. We all knew that this would not end very well, especially during prayer time. He would turn to me and say, “Calamity isn’t funny. There’s a time and a place for laughing.”
I can promise you that I heard that statement a lot growing up and not just during family devotions. Even though dad was strict, he wasn’t trying to be mean. He wanted to make sure that we knew that there are times in life when we need to be serious. There’s a life lesson in everything, even when you’re laughing.
