A Peek Into Our Week | A Road Trip, Bible Study, and More

For the most part it’s been a low key week for us (and that’s just fine with me). With that being said, I thought I’d still share what we’ve been up to.

Can you believe that I’m due in 9 weeks? I sure can’t!!! (Thank you for your continued encouragement and prayers as we walk through this new journey!)

A New Bible Study

I spend most of my time at church serving our students so it’s been quite a while since I’ve been in a Bible study with other ladies. In the past few weeks the Lord’s been telling me that I need to find community because I’ve been missing it. When I was invited to a ladies in-home study I was a bit hesitant because I knew I’d have to bow out for a little while once this little guy comes. I knew I needed community and wasn’t going to let Satan put those thoughts in my way so I gladly accepted.

This group had been meeting and had taken the summer off so this was their first week back. Even though I knew most of the women in the group, I have to admit that I was still nervous to walk in the door. These ladies were so sweet and I automatically felt accepted into their group – a wonderful feeling for an introvert like me.

I’m excited to study God’s Word and learn from them!

My Road Trip to Chattanooga

Tshanina and Glenda

My dear friend, Glenda, moved to Chattanooga over six months ago and this week I jumped in the car and headed to visit her and check out her new digs. (The below pic is a view from her balcony. Isn’t it beautiful?)

Glenda and I worked together years ago and once we became friends we’ve been inseparable. She’s a friend who knows the good, the bad and the ugly in my life and still loves me regardless. Not only does she give excellent advice, but she’ll also shoot me straight whether I like to hear it or not. (Definitely a rare find in a friend and I’m so blessed to have her in my life.)

Even after we stopped working together we still got together every couple weeks to catch up! So you can imagine how sad I was when she told me that her husband’s work was moving her away!

When I arrived Thursday we picked up where we’d last left off. (We’ve gotten together for lunch since she’s moved away.) It was so refreshing to be back together!

We spent most of our time chatting it up! And she even took me out shopping and we were able to find a shirt for me to wear to my baby shower next month! (If you know me, you know I hate to shop. My expectations were low, so I was thankful when we found the perfect shirt!)

It was sad to leave, but I look forward to our next time together!

Well, that’s a peek into our week. What have you been up to this week? (Please share in the comments below.)

So happy you have found a group of ladies to do Bible study with and that you have Glenda in your life. It’s so important to have a friend like her in your life.
