A Peek Into Our Week | A Bit of Bragging, A New Look and moreThis post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.
One of the projects I’ve been working on for the past few weeks is a new look for my blog.
I found the perfect template (which probably means nothing to most of you) but wanted to make a few tweaks to it and make it my own.
Being the thrifty girl that I am, I didn’t want to pay anyone to make the tweaks (mostly because I knew I could figure it out myself) so I did a bit of research and voila!
Here’s a peek at the before:
And here’s how it looks now:
I’m really excited about how it turned out. Plus, it’s pretty fulfilling to learn new things and be able to do it myself.
A Bit Of Bragging
A few nights ago Trent came home and I was a hot mess – I was crying. (I always feel bad when this happens. Yes, my pregnancy hormones are still regulating, or that’s what I’m blaming it on! Ha!)
As I told him, I was feeling overwhelmed. Thankfully I was getting most everything done around the house that needed to be done, but I was running out of time when it came to the things that I wanted to do. (Moms, I know you can relate to this!) The blog redesign project that I just shared with you – well, I’d been working on it for a few weeks and was ready to implement it but hadn’t been able to find the necessary uninterrupted time to do so.
The fact that Trent had to work a boat show all weekend didn’t help because I knew he wouldn’t be around and that meant I wouldn’t get a break. Sometimes a girl just needs to cry, and it felt good to get it out!
I kid you not, a few hours later my friend texted me (the very same one that came over to give us some baby tips) asking if she could come over the next day to watch Dalton so I could get a break! I couldn’t believe it, and that started the tears again. But this time they were happy tears!
I just had to share this story with you and brag on the Lord. No matter what you’re going through – He knows! (And, by the way – Robin, thank you for watching Dalton and letting me get refreshed. You are an angel!!!)
Wow, what a difference a few months make. (Take a peek at Dalton in this same chair a few months ago.) There’s no doubt that he’s constantly growing but when you’re with him every day you don’t notice it as much – that is, until you look back at pictures.
I’m so blessed that he sleeps 9-10 hours at night. Sometimes he’ll wake up early (before it’s time to “get up”) and he’ll lay in his bed and talk. It sounds like he’s having his own little party in his room.
Before you conjure up the notion that he’s the perfect little child – there are times when he doesn’t want to lay in his bed and starts crying.
Even through the tears and the rough moments, he really is a good baby! I love the fact that he’s a chill baby most of the time. I have no doubt that the Lord knew what we needed (could handle). We are beyond blessed and don’t take that for-granted!
Okay, enough about us. How was your week? What fun things have you been up to?
