A Peek Into My Week | Baby’s Ultrasound, Garden Update, and moreThis post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.
It’ hard to believe that today starts my 21st week of pregnancy. This little one will be here before we know it, which is a very overwhelming thought in more ways than one! ;o)
On Monday Trent and I headed to the doctor for the baby’s ultrasound. I don’t know about you, but I’m just amazed at technology.
I had an ultrasound at the very beginning of the pregnancy so I knew what to expect. But this was Trent’s first ultrasound experience and it was fun watching him take it all in. I think he really enjoyed it!
Of course, we saw fingers, toes and all of that good stuff. At one point, we even saw the baby moving its mouth up and down (the tech said it was swallowing). The doctor said that the baby looks good!
And, yes, we did find out what it is, but we’re going to keep that to ourselves for a little while. I guess you’ll just have to stay tuned if you want to know the gender!
A Visit to the Chiropractor
The day after we planted our garden a few weeks ago, I started having hip pain. I’ve had this type of pain before when I do things like working in the yard/garden, but this time it didn’t go away after a few days. In fact, it ended up getting worse and became extremely painful. So, I decided to head to the chiropractor for the first time since I was a teenager. (Yes, I’m aware that some of you may think that chiropractors are quacks. But I’ve seen firsthand how beneficial they’ve been for other people so I have no problem with them.)
This chiropractor actually specializes in adjustments for pregnant women/children. She told me how beneficial chiropractic is for pregnant women, mostly during the third trimester of pregnancy. (For those that love details, here’s how she explained it. When your pelvis is out of line, your uterus also grows out of line, or “crooked.” If you keep your pelvis aligned then your uterus will be aligned too, which makes it much easier for the baby to enter the world when it’s time to deliver. It can also cut down on delivery time! The information she shared made a lot of sense and I was definitely intrigued.)
I learned that my sciatic nerve was out of wack, and I’m happy to report that my hip pain is all gone! Thank you Lord!
Speaking of our garden, I just have to share a few pictures. Our zucchini and tomato plants have buds and it looks like we’ll have some fresh veggies soon!
Earlier this week we planted watermelon and another tomato plant. (I think Trent has an obsession with tomato plants. I just had to laugh when he brought another one home!)
This morning/afternoon I was able to hang out with my nephew Joel. Lucky for me, his family was all running in different directions and I got to spend some fun one-on-one time with him. (They grow up fast and someday he might not want to hang out with me.) As you can imagine with a teenager, we played video games most of the time. Fine by me because I enjoy them!
Well, that’s a peek into my week. I’d love to know what you’ve been up to this week!
