Our Week in Pictures | Branson, MO Road Trip

This week Trent and I were in Branson, Missouri with Trent’s work. We had such a great time! I took a few pictures of our road trip so that you could see the sites too! I’ll share more about our trip next week, so for now sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride.

puffy clouds

We saw lots of crops (corn, soy bean, etc) on our road trip but I thought they’d make for a boring first picture! Instead, I thought I’d share some of the puffiest clouds I’ve seen in a while. The kid in me wanted to jump from cloud to cloud!

lambert's cafe

How could we drive through Missouri and not stop at Lambert’s Cafe ~ home of the throwed rolls! And, yes, they actually throw the rolls at you so you’d better have a good catcher with you when you go! Something else you’ll want to take when you visit Lamberts is a hearty appetite. Along with your meal, they pass around “extras” (fried potatoes, black eyed peas, fried okra and more). If you leave here hungry it’s definitely your own fault!

great american steak and chicken house

In order for businesses to stand out on the Branson strip they have to be eye-catching. This ginormous chicken is attached to the Great American Steak and Chicken House.

americana theater cat

This cat is a bit eery if you ask me. And, I’m not quite sure what a cat has to do with a theater. But, it worked its magic because it caught my attention each time we drove past it!

homestead motel

I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw this sign on the Homestead Motel. If you can’t read it, it says, “As seen on tv – CBS’s Undercover Boss CEO stayed here.” Now, I’m not exactly sure why that would draw someone to this motel but it sure might. Different strokes for different folks. :O)

shine and dine carwash and grill

Somewhere between Tennessee and Missouri is the Shine and Dine Carwash and Grill. As you can guess by the name, attached to the carwash is a restaurant. My observation was that the restaurant gets more business than the carwash.

skinny bridge
And this, my friends, is the world’s skinniest bridge. This picture doesn’t do it justice. If I was a car driving on this road I’d suck in my breath when I saw another car coming. Bridges aren’t my favorite so this would definitely have to be my least favorite bridge!

chedar chips
And, last but definitely not least – I spotted this little store right before we crossed from Kentucky into Missouri. It looks innocent enough, right? Look closer at the sign in the window!

“Due to excessive heat we ain’t here alot. Come in. Look around…”  How funny is that?
