Sometimes we need to unplug from our everyday lives and spend time with family. Last week I decided I needed to go visit my sister, so over the weekend I headed to Georgia to see Charity and her family. (If you follow along on my Facebook page you’ve already seen a few pictures!) It’s been a while since I’ve seen them and it was just time. Do you know what I mean?
Check out this adorable welcome note I found in my room.
This is Levi and Lincoln. These precious little fellows are constantly on the go and we had a blast from the moment I walked in the door! I think they had planned out the whole weekend before I even got there – I love it!
I went to church with the family yesterday morning. We had to leave their house by 7:30 a.m. so that meant that I had to get up at 6:45 (they’re an hour ahead so it was really 5:45 my time). I had set my alarm and it was time to get up but I was still a bit groggy so I laid in bed a few extra minutes. That’s when I heard Lincoln outside my door whispering to Charity, “Should we check on Aunt Tshanina?” Too cute!
While we did have fun riding bicycles and playing Uno and video games I think we had the most fun riding go-karts!
Isn’t it every kid’s dream to have a go-kart track in their back yard? What you can’t see is the rest of the track that goes back into the woods…so fun!
I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve driven one of these puppies! And what a blast we had! Hey, what can I say…I’m a big kid at heart.
I must admit that I was a bit scared to let a 5 and 9 year old drive me around on a motorized vehicle. Lincoln was the more cautious driver, and Levi, well, there were a few times when I had to tell him to slow down. All in all, they were both very good drivers. Don’t you wish you could go back to the days when you were fearless? :O)
This is the whole crew after we finished riding! (Do you know how hard it is to take a self portrait with 5 people? I think I did a pretty good job!) If you look closely you can see the dirt smudges on our faces! :o)
My birthday was a few weeks ago and Charity (and the boys) made me a birthday cake. But, not just any birthday cake – my most favorite flavor, strawberry! It was so yummy and the thoughtfulness of this little surprise just melted my heart. They even had birthday candles and everything!
Charity and I also watched one of our favorite movies, The Private Eyes (that’s my affiliate link). If you haven’t checked out this movie starring Don Knotts and Tim Conway, it’s a must see and will have you rolling on the floor laughing! This is one of those movies we watched as kids so it was fun to say the lines and laugh together! There’s just nothing like a sister, and I’m so thankful for mine
This weekend was just what I needed to recharge my batteries. Thanks Nathan and Charity for letting me visit…I can’t wait to do it again soon!
