I hope you’re enjoying my favorite things posts. (You can find my favorite things from previous months here!) And, don’t forget to share a few of your favorite things below!
Dear Jesus by Sarah Young
I’ve told you before about Sarah Young’s fabulous book, Jesus Calling. But did you know that she has more than one devotional book?
I started reading Dear Jesus a few months ago. It has a slightly different format than Jesus Calling, so I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to like it. Well, I’m here to tell you that Sarah did not disappoint with this second devotional.
Just as the title suggests, each day begins with a short note from the reader to the Lord about that day’s topic. You’ll then find a reply as if the Lord’s writing back specifically to you, with verses that correspond to why He would have that reply.
There have been many days when these devotions have spoken deep into my heart. And, just like Jesus Calling, I felt as if it was written just for me!
Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is a fabulous girly chick-flick based on Jane Austen’s book. The story is set in the 19th century, and while there are many fun characters in this story, the main character is Miss Elizabeth Bennett. Follow along as she and her four sisters muddle their way through life, love, marriage and more.
You’ll also meet Mr. Darcy who, after insulting Miss Bennett, causes her to want nothing to do with him. Their bantering goes back and forth, and at times you’ll likely feel sorry for Mr. Darcy. In the end, I’m willing to bet he’ll win your heart.
This movie is perfect for a girl’s weekend. Be warned though, it’s 5 hours long. (And worth every minute!)
Tweezerman Slant Tweezers
There’s not really too much I can say about these Tweezerman Slant Tweezers, except that they are awesome! I can’t tell you how long I’ve had these stainless steel tweezers – it seems like they last forever.
Tweezing is never fun, but these tweezers make it a ton easier! You can use the slant side for general tweezing, or flip them to use the high side of the slant edge for precision work!
My favorite memories of Pit are playing as a child with my cousins! There were a few times when we got so loud that one of my aunts yelled at us and told us to quiet down – but that didn’t stop us from playing. Ha!
This fast-paced game is definitely a party pleaser. The aim of the game is to be the first person to corner a specific market (much like trading on the stock market). Trade your cards with other players, but watch out because you might get the Bull or Bear which will throw a monkey wrench into your trading! Once you get nine cards of the same suit, you’ve won the game and the fun begins again!
And there you have it for this month! You’ll definitely want to check out my other favorite things, and share a few of your favorite things in the comments below!
