“Mom” For The Afternoon

Yesterday I got to be “mom” for the afternoon! One of my duties was to take the kids to their Tang Soo Do class. Before we headed to class I told them to grab an extra pair of clothes because we were going on a little outing afterwards! As we were on our way to class they tried and tried to get me to tell them where we were going. (It was driving Jacob crazy!) The only hint they were given was that it was outside.

One of the guesses was that we were going to Earth Day again. Then they asked if we were going to an outdoor flea market. I laughed and asked them if they thought that would be something fun. Oddly enough, they said they might enjoy it. I told them that even I would enjoy the place we were going. Joel piped up and said, “Yeah, because you’re a big kid at heart. I read that on your blog.” I love it!

Well, by the time we got to their class they had figured out where we were heading for our special outing. Joel, being the homebody that he is, asked how long we’d have to stay at our special outing. How could I not laugh?

All I can say is that this Tang Soo Do stuff is hard work. They came out of the class all sweaty. Then we headed to our next destination!

Our park has a playground called “Kids Castle.” They’ve recently re-done it so I thought it might be fun to check it out. When we first arrived I wasn’t sure how well it was going to go over. Kids Castle is geared more towards Elizabeth’s age and younger (although, I’m a firm believer that you’re never too old to swing!)

Elizabeth and I headed in and she seemed to be enjoying herself! Check out this thingamabobber – I thought this was very neat for the kiddos!

Thankfully the boys quickly started playing tag, and even made some new friends!

Check out this awesome swing!

We ended up being there for over an hour and I think it was a success because not even Joel asked to leave. We headed to the car when the mosquitoes started to bite. I think we might just have to head back to Kids Castle.
