My Favorite Things (February)This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy for more details.
Is it just me, or are you having a hard time believing the new month is already here? Man, time flies!
Here are a few of my favorite things! You can find my favorite things from previous months here! And, don’t forget to share a few of your favorite things below!
Based on the Charles Dickens novel, Nicholas Nickelby is the story of a young man who must support his mother and sister after the death of his father. Though he faces many hardships in his life, he continually strives to remain positive and make the best out of his circumstances.
I love this quote from the movie. “In every life, no matter how full or empty one’s purse, there is tragedy. It is the one promise life always fulfills. Thus, happiness is a gift and the trick is not to expect it but to delight in it when it comes, and to add to other people’s store of it.”
Nicholas Nickelby is definitely a girly chick-flick! Not only does this movie have a fabulous storyline, but I love the fact that you’ll be reminded of valuable life lessons.
Celestial Seasoning Candy Cane Lane Tea
Last month I told you about my Hotshot. Well, one of my favorite ways to use my Hotshot is to make tea! But not just any cup of tea – Celestial Seasoning’s Candy Cane Lane Tea. I understand that it may sound weird, but you have to try it. I have no doubt that once you do, you’ll be hooked like I am! No cream or sugars are necessary (unless that’s your kind of thing), just a bit of honey and it’s absolutely perfect!
Candy Cane Tea is a Holiday Tea, but I would also compare it to Peppermint Tea, which is another yummy flavor! Really, you can’t go wrong with any of Celestial Seasoning’s teas, which can be found at most grocery stores.
CHI Flat Iron
Most people think that I have naturally straight hair. For the most part, yes I do. But one thing they don’t realize is that I straighten my hair with my CHI Flat Iron. Straightening it gives it a smooth-looking finish.
I generally straighten my hair every other day (after washing/blow-drying). And on the off days, I’ll likely only have to touch-up a few pieces here and there!
I know you’re thinking that the CHI is expensive. Yes, it is more expensive than other flat irons, but I’ve had my current CHI for 2-3 years, so I think it’s worth it!
Flat Iron Spray
If you plan on straightening your hair with a flat iron, I HIGHLY recommend that you use a flat iron spray to protect your hair. Simply spray your hair before you straighten it.
There are tons of products on the market, but these are the ones that I’ve used and recommend: Got2B Guardian Angel Flat Iron Balm with Gloss Finish, Redken 22 Hot Sets Thermal Styling Mist, and Got2B Guardian Angel Blow Out Lotion with Gloss Finish.
Massage is definitely my favorite way to relax and unwind! It’s a little slice of Heaven and is a fabulous way to let go of the stress of life, if only for an hour!
You may be leery about having someone see your body. Don’t worry, I was the same way, until I had my first massage. Rest assured that you’re covered with a sheet and the only time an area of your body is uncovered is when your therapist is working on it. (One thing I remind myself is that they’ve seen it all. HA!)
If you’ve never tried a massage, I encourage you to try it at least once! For those of you that live local, Erin at The Rain Tree Salon & Day Spa is the therapist I see – she’s fabulous!
And there you have it for this month! You’ll definitely want to check out my other favorite things, and share a few of your favorite things in the comments below!
