Eating It Up…

One thing I learned early on in our marriage is that Trent’s idea of a fun vacation is to frequent the local restaurants.  I know what you’re thinking, eating out when you’re on vacation isn’t very thrifty.  Well, that’s why we’re thrifty the rest of the year, so that we can splurge while we’re on vacation.

The next time you’re in Destin you have to check out these restaurants.  They’re definitely our favorite and we visit every time we come.

Dewey Destins has the best seafood in town.  They have two locations but we recommend that you try their Crab Island location where you can eat on the dock.  This was our view the night we went!

If you’re like us, you’ll probably think this place is a “dive” when you drive up.  Once you taste their food you won’t care and you will be hooked.  Their food is consistently delicious every time we go.  I shouldn’t admit this but it’s so good that we usually go twice when we visit Destin.

They have a large menu and you can get anything from fried or grilled to steamed seafood.  I always get the grilled shrimp.  This time Trent had their Amberjack.  And let me just say that their hushpuppies are the best I’ve ever had.  I think one of their tricks is to add jalapenos.  So yummy!!!

Another Broken Egg Cafe is one of our other favorite places to eat.  Their menu has a huge selection of breakfast items and there’s sure to be something for everyone. I always get their Cinnamon Roll French Toast.  As you can see, the french toast is topped with banana’s foster sauce, warm berries and whipped cream.  It is yummy goodness on a plate!!!

Trent had their Eggs Benedict and, of course, I had to try a few bites.  It was delicious too.  Let me just say that we were both stuffed by the time that we left.  Okay, we were stuffed before we finished our meals.  ;o)

If you want to check out The Broken Egg Cafe make sure you go early as they’re only open until 2 p.m.

Neither restaurant asked me to write about their yummy establishments.  In fact, they have no idea I even exist.
