She put me in my car seat and we were on a mission to our local Dollar General store to try their Dollar General brand items.
I wasn’t quite sure which items she had in mind to try but there was no doubt that I wanted to check out the DG Baby items. After all, other than food, what more does a two month old want than to have a clean and dry bottom?
It was as if she had read my mind. I was pumped as we headed straight to the diaper aisle!
There was a wide variety of sizes but she knew exactly what I needed. It’s a good thing because I can’t read yet!
As she put the diapers in our cart, she had a look of shock on her face. I later learned what it was as I over heard her talking to daddy that night. The DG Baby diapers (size 1) were only $6 per pack of 50 – that’s $.12 a diaper!
Momma’s very thrifty and is always looking for deals on diapers. She told daddy that $.12 a diaper is an excellent every day price. Compared to other store brands which sell for $.20 a diaper, that’s a steal. Plus she didn’t have to search for a deal or even use a coupon!
The true test would come when I tried them…after all, I was quality control in this mission!
I almost forgot to mention that momma snuck over to the candy aisle while we were at Dollar General. I saw her pick up a bag of the Sweet Smiles candies. I was secretly hoping she’d get the Circus Peanuts, but she grabbed her favorite, Gummie Peach Rings!
A few mornings later momma and I compared notes to see how the DG Baby diapers held up. We both agreed that they did a fabulous job!
There were no leaks and they kept me nice and dry. And believe me, I had a few blow outs!
Momma told me that the only difference she noticed between the DG Baby diapers and the other store brand was the little blue line that showed when the diaper was wet. Compared to $.20 a diaper, she would rather pay $.12 a diaper and do without the blue line. She said it’s not hard to tell when a baby’s wet anyways. I decided to take her word for it.
Our mission was complete, and quite successful I might add. Momma had found a way to help our family save money and I was a happy camper with a dry bottom!
And those Sweet Smiles Gummi Peach Rings, I saw momma enjoying them as she reported my store brand findings. She must have liked them because she had a smile on her face!
The next time you’re at Dollar General, check out their store brands…they don’t disappoint. Learn more about Dollar General Brands!
