Last week we had an amazing time at beach camp! We took three charter buses full of students to Panama City – there ended up being 130 of us altogether!
Each leader was assigned a family group and these awesome students were my family for the week. They quickly gave me the name Mama T and it’s stuck ever since!
After worship each night we would meet together and discuss the day and what God had taught them. We really did live life together and it’s amazing how much students will share if you’re willing to listen. Along with serious moments, of course there was tons of laughter.
I roomed with four young ladies and, along with tons of laughter, we were also able to have some awesome late night conversations!
I let the girls have the beds and I chose to sleep on the pull-out couch. Let’s just say that it had seen better days. Can you say neck and back ache? (I was super stoked to come home to my own bed.)
I’m still catching up on my sleep but I wouldn’t trade that lack of sleep for anything! We had a fantabulous time! Honestly, I would have stayed and hung out with these kids for another week.
God did some amazing work in the hearts and lives of our students. We had one that prayed to receive Christ and was baptized while we were there! After giving her heart to Christ her entire countenance changed – it was as if a weight had been lifted.
Thank you for your prayers. The kids behaved well and we didn’t have any problems with any of them!
How was your week? Did you do anything exciting?
