When I was contacted to write about Arby’s New Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich, I jumped at the chance. I love to try new products, and this was the perfect excuse!
Arby’s Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich begins by slow smoking the beef brisket over hickory for 13 hours (that’s more than most barbecue joints)! They pile the brisket high on top of the toasted, bakery-style bun and add smoked Gouda cheese, crispy onions, BBQ sauce and mayo!
Now, before I tell you what I thought about the sandwich, I have a confession! I’m not a fan of brisket. Any time we have bbq I shy away from brisket. In fact, when Trent found out that I was sampling the Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich, he even said, “But you don’t like brisket!” Ok, I feel a lot better now that I’ve shared my secret!
Drum roll please! I’m very happy to report that I really enjoyed this sandwich and would gladly order it again. I loved the texture of the deli-sliced style brisket much better than the cut of most brisket sandwiches! That made a huge difference and was the game changer for me!
The meat had a distinct, rich smoked flavor! Kudos to the chefs that created this sandwich; they were spot on when they chose to pair the melted Gouda with the smoked brisket! It is definitely a match made in Heaven! And, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the crispy onions, but they added just the right amount of crunch, and flavor, to the sandwich!
Arby’s Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich was fabulous, even for a non-brisket lover like me! I mean, who would have guessed that Arby’s would be the restuarant to sell me on a brisket sandwich?
The next time you find yourself looking for a fabulous brisket sandwich, stop by Arby’s. This sandwich is available for a limited time only, so stop by and grab one before they’re gone! Find an Arby’s here if you’re not sure where your closest store is!
