Every mom needs someone to come alongside her and encourage her, and I believe there are 5 words that every mom needs to hear. Will you be that someone?

Motherhood is a hard job, and anyone who disagrees hasn’t walked a day in a mom’s shoes!

I mean, how many other jobs are there where you work 24 hour shifts, 7 days a week and 365 days a year with little breaks (where you want to jump back in bed) and vacation time is only dreamed of?

Especially when a mom has littles, she gets very little sleep. When she does sleep, it’s not very sound because she’s listening for her precious child to wake up crying in the middle of the night. (Or, maybe that was just me.)

A newborn mom’s days are filled with constant feedings. When her children get a bit older she’s keeping them entertained or chasing them around the house so they don’t get into everything or in trouble. Naptime finally comes and when she walks out of the room she says, “Ready, set, and go” because she knows there’s only a short amount of time to shower, get something to eat or pick up the house.

Every mom needs someone to come alongside her and encourage her, and I believe there are 5 words that every mom needs to hear. Will you be that someone?

Every mom needs someone to come alongside her and encourage her, and I believe there are 5 words that every mom needs to hear. These words are life changing and when she hears them they will brighten her day and give her hope.

What are these five words?

You’re doing a great job!

I can’t tell you how many times I am encouraged when a friend or family member tells me I’m doing a great job. Each and every time I hear these five words my spirits are instantly lifted.

Especially when Dalton was a newborn, I felt like I was muddling through the waters of motherhood. I was green as grass and had no clue what I was doing (and still don’t). Even though there were friends and family around to ask questions to, I didn’t want to bug them all the time. So, when someone genuinely told me I was doing a great job (whether I believed them or not) they helped me get through those tough moments when the baby was crying for no reason or when I wanted to crawl in the corner and cry because I felt like I was doing it all wrong.

Why not change the course of someone’s day?

The next time you see a mom who’s doing her best to make life for her littles easier, let her know that she’s doing a great job. I dare you!
