After asking myself if I'm the only one who's struggling, I'm reminded that everyone struggles and no one has it all together. Knowing this is very freeing!

“Recognize that most people who appear self-sufficient are actually struggling deeply.” – Dear Jesus, Sarah Young

Even this morning as I read these words in my devotional book, I was once again reminded that we all struggle and no one has it all together. This is something I’m learning as I get older and it’s very freeing.

You see, for years I was the girl that wanted everyone to think that I had it all together. I was the strong one that never wanted anyone to know that there were struggles going on deep inside. I thought I could handle whatever life threw my way and even told myself it was okay because “I am a strong woman.” Being a perfectionist didn’t help my thought process either because perfect people never struggle, right? Ha!

As I’ve walked through tests and trials of this life I’ve learned that we all have flaws. We are all imperfect people living in an imperfect world. We all struggle with something!

After asking myself if I'm the only one who's struggling, I'm reminded that everyone struggles and no one has it all together. Knowing this is very freeing!

I don’t want to be the strong one anymore!

If you’ve been the strong one, I’ll venture to say that there are times when you don’t want to be strong anymore. (Or maybe I’m the only one who has felt this way!) You want someone listen to your problems and have a shoulder to cry on.

My friend, please know that there’s nothing wrong with feeling this way. You don’t always need to be the strong one. It’s perfectly okay to have weak moments! In fact, these weak moments are healthy for us because they help us rely on others.

Why do we feel like we have to give off this persona that life is perfect when we’re desperately falling apart inside? We may be smiling on the inside but our heart is breaking in two.

If we’re ever going to realize that we all struggle, we need to learn that it’s okay to have weak moments, days, or even weeks.

When these moments come (and they will), surround yourself with family and friends that will lift you up, strengthen you and breath fresh life into your weary soul.

After asking myself if I'm the only one who's struggling, I'm reminded that everyone struggles and no one has it all together. Knowing this is very freeing!

Aren’t you glad you’re not alone?

I don’t know about you, but when I’m walking through struggles in this life it’s a huge comfort to know that I’m not alone, that there are other people who have been in my shoes, know how I feel and get it!

If you’re currently walking through a struggle, please know that you are not alone!
