My Life Is Proof That God Can Turn The Ugly Into Something Beautiful

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” ~ Ephesians 3:20

As I read those words during my quiet time a few days ago, I couldn’t help but think about my life – where I’ve been and where I am now. I was reminded of how the Lord turned my bad circumstances and used them for good! How He turned the ugly into something beautiful!

When I was walking through my divorce, the pain was unbearable. My dreams for the future had been crushed into a million pieces. I didn’t know how I was going to make it through. And to be completely honest, there was no way I could see how anything good could come out of this terrible situation.

All I could do was muddle through day by day, and do the only thing I knew, rely on the Lord.

Even as I look back on that painful time, I’m amazed at how God was with me every step of the way. He provided for me emotionally, physically and spiritually! As I pressed into Him, He lifted me and carried me.

I think Andy Stanley says it best, “God showcases His strength in the midst of our weakness.” I have no doubt that His grace was sufficient for me.

Every time I hear “Blessings” by Lora Story, I am reminded that God can turn the ugly into something beautiful. Listen to the chorus!

You may be walking through a difficult road. I want to encourage you to stop trying to control your situation and give it to the Lord. He knows exactly what you need and He will carry you through if you’ll only let Him. Let me say that again. HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED!

Even though it doesn’t look like it right now, one day you’ll be able to look back and see how He made your situation beautiful! Yes, even your situation!

Much like I have, you’ll see that He did more than you could “ever ask or imagine.”
